Dongle Not Recognized in CodeMeter or CodeMeter Won't Start
Make sure that no unlicensed copy of other CAD/CAM systems are installed or have been installed in the past.
Search to see if the following two files existing in the following locations. If so, please delete them from the computer.
C:\Windows\SysNative\drivers\multikey.sys
"C:\Windows\SysNative\drivers\mcamvusb.sys"
1. Make sure dongle is plugged in to the USB port.
2. If dongle is plugged in, try plugging into a different USB port
3. In Windows, in the "Type here to search" box, type: Codemeter Control Center. This should open the Codemeter Control Center. Please make sure that your dongle is showing in the Window Pane to the left, under the License tab.
4. In CodeMeter Control Center, under the Process menu, select the Stop Service selection. Once the service has been stopped then select the Restart Service selection.
5. Download and install the latest version of CodeMeter from the Wibu Systems website.
6. In the CodeMeter Control Center, select Update Firmware of Selected CmDongle.
Other issues:
Dongle not found in OPTICAM for SOLIDWORKS - hardware licensed option.
- Worked one time.
- Doesn't thereafter
- Stop the service (in Services or try it in the CodeMeter Control Panel).
- Start the service.
- Retest.
On one customer's PC, the "WebAdmin" button didn't work on two separate browsers. It could be the port number is blocked by the firewall, but as of today, we are not sure. The webpage fails to load. The port number is - in this example - shown in red:
