How do I install EDM Expert with Turbo Tech

Installation of EDM Expert

Note: You must have Administrator Rights to perform the actions for the following steps. 


Note: If you have recently purchased a new post-processor requiring the use of EDM Expert and you do not have your original OPTICAM Classic installation data available, then you should have been sent information for downloading the EDM Expert installation program. You can also download V2.1.8 from the link below. 


Uninstall any previous version of EDM Expert first.

Install all the items shown below(except ExpertMill) in the order that they are listed.


 


Once all the EDM Expert files have been installed, then a GFMS folder for EDM Expert should exist in the following location and contain the following folders and files. 

C:\GFMS 


 


If the technology does not match your machine you can copy the files from your machine and place them on your computer.

For copying the technology data from your machine to the EDM Expert installation on your computer then please do the following: 

ACCut C/E/P Series Machines 


On Machine 


Browse to Local C: 


Open the GFMS folder and then open the Cut_EDMExpert folder. 


Copy the Tct folder to a flash drive 


At Computer 

Browse to Local C: drive 


Open the GFMS folder and then open the Cut_EDMExpert folder 


Rename the existing Tct folder to Old_Tct 


Copy the Tct folder from the flash drive to the location of where you renamed the original file to Old_Tct 


EDM Expert installation on the computer should then have the same technology data that exists on the machine 



Cut 200/300SP (ACCutX00 Post Processor) 

On Machine 


Browse to Local C: 


Open the GFMS folder and then open the Cut_EDMExpert folder 


Copy the Cut folder to a flash drive 



At Computer 

Browse to Local C: drive 


Open the GFMS folder and then open the Cut_EDMExpert folder 


Rename the existing Cut folder to Old_Cut 


Copy the Cut folder from the flash drive to the location of where you renamed the original file to Old_Cut 


EDM Expert installation on the computer should then have the same technology data that exists on the machine. 

After installing EDM Expert you will need to open PEPS and select your machine in the Postprocessor configurations. This will load the correct technology database for your machine.

Remember to save this setting as a default. The password to save items as a default is "ketmac" .
