How do I connect a Client PC to the CodeMeter license server?

If your software displays a "Security Device Missing" or "License Not Found" error, it usually means the Client PC cannot find the License Server on your network. Follow these steps to manually point the client to the server.

1. Open CodeMeter WebAdmin

  • Locate the CodeMeter icon in the Windows system tray (near the clock).
  • Click the icon and select WebAdmin. This will open a configuration page in your web browser.

2. Access the Server Search List

  1. In the WebAdmin interface, navigate to Configuration > Basic > Server Search List.
  2. If the list is empty, the client is only looking for a local USB dongle.

3. Add the Server Address

  • Click the Add New Server button (usually represented by a plus icon or "Add" button).
  • Enter the IP Address or the Hostname of the computer where the license server is installed. (Example: 192.168.1.50 or OFFICE-SERVER).
  • Click Add.

4. Set Priority and Apply

  1. Use the Up Arrow icon to move your server address to the top of the list.
  2. Click the Apply button at the bottom of the page.
  3. Wait a few seconds for the CodeMeter service to refresh.

5. Verify the Connection

  • Go to the Dashboard tab in WebAdmin.
  • Look at the bottom of the page under Current Server. It should now list the name or IP of your license server instead of "Localhost."
  • Launch your OPTICAM software to confirm the error is resolved.
