How do I generate a license request for a non-dongle hardware lock (Virtual Stick)?

If you are using a software-based license (Virtual Stick) rather than a physical USB dongle, follow these steps to bind the license to your computer hardware and generate a request file.

1. Import the CodeMeterAct Template

Before generating a request, you must have the CodeMeterAct.wbb file. This is usually found on your installation media or provided by your support representative.

  • Open the CodeMeter Control Center.
  • Locate the CodeMeterAct.wbb file in your file explorer.
  • Drag and Drop the .wbb file directly into the left-hand panel of the CodeMeter Control Center window.

2. Start the License Activation

Once the Virtual Stick entry appears in the list (it will usually have a serial number starting with 130-):

  1. Select the new Virtual Stick entry.
  2. Click the Activate License button to open the CmFAS Assistant.
  3. Click Next on the welcome screen.

3. Create the Request File

  1. Select "Create license request" and click Next.
  2. Choose a location to save your request file (e.g., your Desktop).
  3. Note: You can copy the file path in the edit box (CTRL+C) to quickly find it later.
  4. Click Commit and then click Finish.

4. Submit the Request

Open your email client and attach the generated .WibuCmRaC file. Send it to support@optisolutionsusa.com.

Important Note: Because this license is "Hardware Locked" to your PC's specific components (Motherboard, CPU, etc.), you must perform these steps on the actual computer where the software will be used. If you change major hardware components in the future, the license may become invalid and require a reset.
