Installing a new license or updated license
PREREQUISITE:
You will need to log in as an administrator before installing the license.
OPTICAM or OPTICAM Classic must be installed first. At the minimum, the CodeMeter runtime must be installed separately (it is automatically included in the OPTICAM installation process) - an IT Administrator may want to just install the CodeMeter runtimes if using a License Server. The runtime is available here:
- Insert the USB Dongle into the PC's USB port. The dongle is a red, thumb-sized device. It will appear in the lefthand pane (its serial number will be listed).

The process to install a license:
1) You will receive a password file - usually a numeric one - ending .WibuCmRaU
2) Save this password file (example, 3-35116911.WibuCmRaU) to your Desktop.
3) Double-click the file and open it with the default app (Code Meter Control Centre), or:
- In the "Type here to search" on the Windows taskbar, type "CodeMeter Control Center". This should list the CodeMeter App, click it to open it.
- Drag and drop the password file from your Desktop to the left panel indicated by the red circle:
4) Wait for the import to complete (this may take several minutes and may even temporarily display a message of "Not Responding")
5) Launch OPTICAM to confirm the password works.
