Downloading and Installing Opticam
1) Choose your Version below.
NOTES: Opticam for Solidworks is compatible with SOLIDWORKS 3 versions older than the Opticam for SOLIDWORKS version downloaded. Opticam for SW 2023 works in SW 2023-2020
Opticam for NX V2023 is compatible with NX V2212
Opticam for NX V2022 is compatible with NX V1961
Opticam for NX V2021 is compatible with NX V1953
2) Unzip the installation folder.
We have two releases per year. The main release is the year of the release followed by .1 and is released at the end of each calendar year to match with the CAD systems that
usually also release by the end of the year. (e.g. 2022.1 is released towards the end of 2021) The mid-year release, for example, V2022.2, contains
usually less new functionality and more bug fixing and is available for free for all
customers who have the .1 version already. SolidWorks customers can
stay with the .1 version or switch to the .2 version if they are experiencing any issues with the main .1 release.
7) Run the OPTICAM_??.exe (?? represents the numerical version of the install)
8) Agree to License Agreement to continue the installation.
9) Check box "Merge settings from the previous version" and Click "Next" to install.
10) After completion, you should be able to start SOLIDWORKS and Opticam will be available in your Add-ins.
If you are running an older version of SOLIDWORKS than the version of Opticam, you will need to manually enable Opticam for the version of SOLIDWORKS you are running. Follow the link below to Knowledge Base Article.
