How do I download and install the Nucleo Fixture software?

Installing the Nucleo Fixture software is a two-part process. First, you will install the base CAD software (called Solid Cut), and then you will install the Nucleo program itself. Before you begin, make sure you have Administrator rights on your computer.

1. Find the Downloads Page

First, we need to get the setup files from the official website.

  1. Open your web browser and go to the Optisolutions Nucleo Download webpage.

2. Install Solid Cut (Step 1)

On the download page, you will see two steps. We must start with Step One.

  • Click the download link for Step 1: Solid Cut (version 2026 or newer) and save it to your computer.
  • Because the file is large, it comes in a "zipped" folder. Once it finishes downloading, right-click the folder and select Extract All to unzip it.
  • Open the unzipped folder, find the Setup file, right-click it, and select Run as administrator.

3. Follow the Solid Cut Setup Wizard

The installer will now guide you through the setup for the base software.

  1. Choose your language.
  2. When asked for the dongle type, select Local Dongle.
  3. Read and agree to the licensing terms.
  4. Leave the installation and personal data folders at their default locations.
  5. Choose to install Extras and allow it to create a Start Menu shortcut.
  6. Make sure the box for Run internet update is checked, and click Install.
  7. If a window pops up for the "CAD CAM Migration Tool," simply click Abort to skip it.

4. Run the Updates

Since we checked the update box, a new window will appear to install the latest service packs.

  • Select Service pack via internet.
  • Click the All On button to make sure you get every update, then click Next.
  • Once it finishes downloading the updates, click Close, and then click Finish on the main installer.

5. Install Nucleo (Step 2)

Now that the base software is ready, we can install the Nucleo Fixture program.

  1. Go back to the Optisolutions Nucleo Download webpage.
  2. Click the download link for Step 2: Latest Nucleo Version.
  3. Just like before, unzip the downloaded folder.
  4. Find the file named nucleo_setup.exe, right-click it, and choose Run as administrator.
  5. Choose your language, agree to the terms, and click Install.

6. Open Your Software

You are completely finished with the installation!

  • Make sure your USB security dongle is plugged into your computer.
  • Find the new Nucleo Fixture icon on your desktop or Start Menu and open it.
  • If the software opens without any errors, your setup is successful.

If you run into any trouble, or if the software says your license is missing, please email our support team at support@optisolutionsusa.com.
