How to run an Update or HotFix for OPTICAM Classic
From time to time, fixes and new development will be in the monthly online update. You can update (or rollback to an earlier version) with the OPTICAM Classic Update App.
In Windows, in the "Type here to search" box, type:
OPTICAM Classic Update
... this should list the app, click it to start it.
Option 1: Updating OPTICAM for a monthly release:
If you want to do the monthly update, use the "Servicepack via Internet" button:
Select all the updates that apply (or click "All ON"), then "Next".
Wait for the process to complete.
Option 2: Updating from Local Drive:
This update option is needed to download the update files to an internet-connected PC and latterly copy the service packs to other (possibly non-connected) PC's. This option is good for the network license where it needs to update all the client systems without downloading the update files from every system.
To start this you select the Options Button
Next, select the Admin Tab.
Next Select Load Admin Package. This will download the update as a zip file for you to either unzip automatically by checking the box below or uncheck to unzip later to example a USB device for easy transfer and deployment to multiple PC’s.
Select OK to close this dialog and return to the main dialog where we will not select load from harddisk option
NOTE: If the computer does not have an internet connection then the Admin Package can be downloaded from a computer that does have an internet connection using the link below.
Option 3: Updating OPTICAM for using an early HotFix:
You may be advised by Support to run a HotFix to fix an issue today, that is already added to the next month's update. You will need a code from Support to do this, and it will only work the day it is issued.
Click "Hotfix" then enter the code provided.
Once this is accepted, you will be taken to the same list of options shown in the second picture. Continue as outlined in Option 1. Please remember to select the All ON button when running the Hotfix.
