How do I generate a license request from a hardware lock (USB Dongle)?

If you need to update your license or add new modules to your physical USB hardware lock (CmDongle), follow these steps to generate a License Request file (.WibuCmRaC).

1. Open CodeMeter Control Center

Ensure your USB hardware lock is plugged into the computer. Open the CodeMeter Control Center by clicking the icon in the Windows system tray or searching for it in the Start menu.

2. Launch the License Update Assistant

  • In the "License" tab, select the dongle you wish to update from the list on the left.
  • Click the License Update button to launch the CmFAS Assistant.

3. Configure the Request

  1. When the assistant opens, click Next.
  2. Select the option "Create license request" and click Next.
  3. Select "Extend existing license" and click Next.
  4. Ensure the correct vendor (usually Camtek GmbH) is selected and click Next.

4. Save and Send the RAC File

  • Click the "..." (browse) button to choose a save location, such as your Desktop.
  • Click Commit to generate the file.
  • Once the process is complete, click Finish.
  • Email the resulting .WibuCmRaC file to support@optisolutionsusa.com.

Note: You will receive a license update file (.WibuCmRaU) in return. Once received, simply drag and drop that file into the CodeMeter Control Center to apply the update.
